The Red Devils & Tactical Application of Free Fall

From time to time The Red Devils were called upon to conduct trials and tests of new tactical equipment and explore the military application of freefall parachuting from heights exceeding 20,000 feet.
It is possible for as many as 20 men to fall in formation from 5 miles up, by day or night and through cloud, pull their ripcords at 2500 feet, land, accomplish their mission and return to their base overland.
It was during one of these trials that The Red Devils Free Fall Team established the British night altitude record of 25,000 feet.
